Welcome to Week 15 of the AI Digest!

This week, it’s all about big tech doubling down on model releases, global strategies, and premium pricing.

Meta dropped not one but multiple LLaMAs, Claude’s new version isn’t for the faint of wallet, and OpenAI is making a move to win over European policymakers.

Let’s get into it 👇

🦙 Meta Unleashes LLaMA 4: Long Context and Behemoth Incoming

Meta is going full throttle with the launch of LLaMA 4, its new family of open-weight foundation models.

Here’s the quick hit:

  • Scout and Maverick, optimized for long-context reasoning.
  • A 2 trillion parameter model is in the works (!).
  • Open weights and commercial use options included.

Meta clearly wants to lead the “open but powerful” category. And with DeepSeek, Mistral, and others in the race, things just got very, very interesting.

💼 OpenAI’s European Economic Blueprint

OpenAI has unveiled a new policy proposal aimed at the EU — titled “The Economic Case for AI in Europe.”

The goal?
Convince policymakers that AI can boost European productivity and competitiveness if the region fosters innovation, rather than over-regulating it into stagnation. (I second that! We have a huge opportunity in the making for Europe).

It’s part defense, part pitch, and very much a signal that AI companies know regulation is coming fast — and they want a seat at the table before the rules are written.

🧠 Amazon Launches Nova: An Open Agent SDK

Amazon is entering the AI agent space with Nova, an open-source SDK built to develop AI agents across platforms.

It’s a strategic move that takes aim at the ecosystem lock-in of OpenAI, Microsoft, and Salesforce. Nova encourages experimentation, interoperability, and custom deployments — perfect for developers and startups who want flexibility.

💸 Claude AI Gets a $200 Premium Plan

Anthropic just launched a $200/month Claude Pro+ tier.

What do you get for the price of a Netflix binge every week?

  • Access to Claude 3 Opus, their most capable model.
  • Longer context, faster responses, and priority access during peak hours.
  • A play clearly targeting researchers, power users, and pros working on high-stakes projects.

Let the price wars begin!
